It was so great to be behind my camera again tonight after a much needed 2 week break!!  I met a fabulous family and we had a blast just playing around in their backyard!  This family was so precious and I can't get over how many of the images I feel like I can "hear" the laughter just from the expressions on their faces.  I love that.  Since I haven't posted in a while, here's a super long sneak peak....

Kory saw some pictures I took of a friend of hers on (you guessed it!) Facebook and immediately contacted me to set up a session for her family!  When she contacted me, I could sense through her first email that she was going to be so fun to work with!!  I don't think I have ever had a client as excited about a photo shoot with me as Kory was!  Makes me feel all special inside or something :)  Sweet Jack is 6 months old and he was such a cutie yesterday!  Funny thing, I could have turned upside down and stood on my head and it still would not have been as interesting to Jack as the grass that he constantly tried to get his hands on!  He was so focused:)  We did however manage to get some super cute expressions from this little cutie!  Kory, here's your sneak peak...I hope you're pleased with what you see so far!

How do you thank the two people that were responsible for the launch of a journey that God has continued to pour blessings on?  How do you thank them for trusting me, putting their faith in me and encouraging me?  How do you give back to those that helped me get started?  Well, last night I tried to say "thanks" in just a small way.  Katie and Graham were the reason Lindsey Turner Photography ever even became a sparkle of a possibility.  They asked me to photogrpah their wedding, way back in October of 2007, just because "I had a nice camera."  After they liked the images that I produced from their special day, they spent the next weeks and months encouraging me to "start a business" and use the gift that God had clearly given to me.  And so it began.  And to look at where my business is now, I can't help but feel indebted to Katie and Graham.  For giving me the opportunity to uncover a God-given talent that I never really knew exisited, and for giving me the extra push I needed to jump out on faith and pursue this endeavor.  I don't think I can really thank them enough, but I had a blast photographing their sweet, young family last night as way of showing my gratitude. 

As I was gathering my bags to head out to the shoot, I looked out the window and realized that we were getting ready to get slammed by a sumemr storm!  I had no idea!!  So, we decided to press on with the shoot and literally got all of these images (and so many more!) in like 25 minutes flat.  It was awesome :)

This morning I had a hot and sticky session with some pretty people, who didn't seem to be NEAR as affected by the 200% humidity as I was!!  :)  This was Tristan's 12 month session in his Grow With Me package and I can't get over how much he's changed since I saw him last!  I know I say this every time I post a Grow With Me session, but I just LOVE the way that I get to know families and children over the course of a year!  I love feeling like we're friends, and not just stictly business! I love watching the children grow and change and develop personalities and I LOVE watching the mommy's and daddy's grow and change into parents!  So fun.  Here's a sneak peak from our morning!

Well, my family and I pulled in the drive this afternoon after a whirlwind trip to Ocean Isle Beach that included sweet time with my grandmother (widowed after my grandfather passed away 2 months ago), memories created with my husband and two children on the beach--Braxton's first real time to play in sand!, lots of laughs with my extended family that was also down for a vacation, plus FOUR photo sessions with some amazing people on the beach!  I am beyond overwhelmed with all that I need to get caught up on after being gone for 5 days and adding to my workload with the sessions I did while I was away!  I am also finishing up plans and handouts for the 2nd LTP Photography workshop THIS Saturday.  The workshop is full at this time, but if you are interested in attending a future LTP workshop, leave me a comment or shoot me an email!!

My great uncle and his three children and their kids were also at the beach for the week and were so excited to have this super special time captured with my camera.  We had a blast and laughed...a lot :)  My cousins are pretty funny people :)

beauty captured.

Last night I had one amazing photo shoot with one incredible family.  I could go on and on about this family.  This was the 4th time I have photographed them over the past 2.5 years.  And let me tell you, there is really something to say about building a relationship with a photographer that will "last a lifetime".  Because I have been with this family so many times, last night, the two boys were acting like they were on a play date!  It was so fun to see them so excited to have their picture taken!  You don't always get that on a first session.  I love how Cristina and Ben trust me to capture their family in a pure and real way.  I love how they put their faith in me to know when to click the shutter, when to act completely goofy, and where to find the light.  I love that we have such an awesome relationship...that started at their first photo session in 2008.  Here is a sneak peak of one of my favorite sessions of all time, and definitely the favorite with this family!

sisters.

last night i had a blast with three of the coolest ladies ever!  jill contacted me a few weeks ago and explained that she wanted to some fresh and fun pictures of her with her two amazing sisters.  she said she wanted the images to capture how different they were, but also that they have one incredible thing in the common....their unshaken belief in Jesus.  when i met them downtown last night, i had no idea i would laugh so much!  they were hysterical and i had such a blast with them!  jill (and jenny and jo!) i hope these photos capture the essence of your sisterhood and the uniqueness of each of your beautiful souls!  enjoy this sneak peak!

I was one of "those people" that boycotted the whole Facebook phenomenom for SO LONG.  And then finally, I gave in, got sucked in (as they say!) and definitely waste more time than I'd like to admit on the (stupid) thing!  But, the coolest thing about it is the way it reconnects you with people in your past that you may not otherwise EVER come across in your life!  Laura and I cheered together in high school.  We spent MANY hours together for three years, and then she graduated, went to college, and we never saw each other again.  Until today!  Facebook is just so cool like that.  Our paths crossed last year sometime and today I finally got to meet her sweet family and precious little boy!  Not only that, she lives in the most adorable 1930s style bungalow that is decorated out of a magazine with a to-die-for white picket fence and gorgeous landscaping!  I was in heaven.  Here are some super sweet images to capture this stage in their family.

"big bro" & "little bro". (Concord family photographer)

On Saturday I met one of the coolest families ever.  I just love little boys, and these two were just as cute as they come!  We had a super steamy morning to work with, but despite that, this mom and dad were absolutely incredible.  I just sat back and watched as they interacted with their two boys.  So in tune with each and every need.  So aware of what each of these special boys needed and when.  I was in awe as I observed these special moments and wanted to capture their precious boys for them in a way that they have never been photographed before.  Melissa and Adam, I admire you for all that you do.  I encourage you to press on.  Be encouraged in the little successes and celebrate them!  You guys truly are Rock Stars.  Here's your sneak peak....and I can't wait to work with you guys again :)

buttercups.

This morning, I photographed this sweet family for the 4th time!  I just LOVE LOVE LOVE watching families grow and being a part of capturing the sweet moments in each and every stage!  I have been photographing them since Lucas was just a couple months old.  Today we had so much fun hiking around and exploring all kinds of new and exciting places!  And I may have fallen in love with a field FULL of yellow buttercups.  Yes, I did.  Here is your sneak peak!
